Life will go on and if nothing else is learned from the recent experience our advice remains the same, “plan for the unexpected”. Have a flashlight and batteries, a couple of gallons of extra water in the house, properly stocked pantry and freezer and making sure your estate plans are in order.
While you have some extra time, consider getting these important documents in place as soon as possible. Do you have the proper documents to match your need? Have they been updated? Do you still need your parents to be in charge of your 30 something year old children? Well, maybe! You want to ensure that your assets are distributed and that your descendants are cared for in the manner that is best for them when you’re gone—while assuring yourself you’ve done all you can.
Join Stephen E. Diamond, Estate Planning Attorney at SDG Law, for a virtual discussion covering proper estate planning documents to prepare today, mistakes commonly made in improperly planned estates, protecting family assets for generations to come, preventing family disputes by communicating your wishes, assigning health care and financial power of attorneys, what to consider if you need a guardian for younger or disabled children, how to give “gifts” tax free and more.
We will close with questions from attendees. If you have something you want covered, please send us your questions ahead of time here.
