Construction accidents in New York are one of the more complicated areas of personal injury law. The fact that somebody is getting a worker’s compensation award or has applied for worker’s compensation, doesn’t mean they can’t get a personal injury award in New York. There are cases where that does happen where you can get both.

You should really talk to an attorney that’s a personal injury attorney, not just a worker’s compensation attorney. The recovery that you get from a personal injury award can be above and beyond the worker’s comp injury award. Worker’s comp will compensate you for some things, but it’s not going to ever approach the type of compensation you get for personal injury award.

It’s important that you have a lawyer that understands construction accidents and how important construction workers are to their family, how dangerous their jobs can be, and how dependent they are on their employers and other people working the construction site to provide safe place to work.

That’s their obligation under the law. An attorney needs to understand that and understand how terrible that can be if that’s not happening. Contact Stenger, Glass, Hagstrom, Lindars & Iuele LLP. We can help you. We want to talk to you. We want to talk to you as soon as it happens.
