Stephen E. Diamond received Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award

Stephen E. Diamond a partner in the law firm Stenger, Diamond, & Glass, LLP was honored by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce with their Community Service Award at the Chamber’s Annual Gala, the 2022 Emerald Ball. 

An attorney for more than 38 years, partner at Stenger, Diamond & Glass, LLP (Stenger, Glass, Hagstrom, Lindars & Iuele LLP), Steve’s reputation for altruism in the Hudson Valley community was recognized on Saturday March 12, 2022, at 5:30 PM at the 2022 Emerald Ball, the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Gala, held at The Grandview at 176 Rinaldi Boulevard in Poughkeepsie. 

“I am so humbled to have been recognized by the chamber with this year’s Community Service Award,” said Steve Diamond, “It has always been important to me to serve my Dutchess County community, from my days as a volunteer firefighter to being a lawyer, I believe it is important to give back to the community in any way I can. I’ve enjoyed supporting the important work done by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce over many years especially during such recently challenging times. I am delighted to have received such an honor.”

Proceeds from the gala support the programs and services of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber Foundation, Inc.

“As you know, these last couple of years have been more than a challenge for many in the business community, including all of us at the Chamber. We are all clamoring to get back to some sense of normalcy, and what better way to spread some positive spirit than by celebrating and giving thanks to those that have made a tremendous impact and have shaped the Hudson Valley business community for many decades.” Frank M. Castella, Jr., the President and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce said.

Steve, a native of Poughkeepsie, is a founding member and legal counsel for the Matt Herring Foundation and past legal counsel and confidant to the late Elouise Maxey President of the Northern Dutchess NAACP from whom he received the 2017 Drum Major for Justice award. He is past Chairman of, and current legal counsel to the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Steve is also a past member of the Board of Directors of The Community Foundation of Dutchess County, Legal counsel for Chamber Foundation and a frequent lecturer on the topics of Estate and Retirement planning and Elder Law issues.

Most recently Steve served as  a member of the Town of Union Vale Planning Board, a post he resigned from when he was elected Justice in the Town.

At Stenger, Glass, Hagstrom, Lindars & Iuele LLP, Steve practices in the areas of wills and estatesbusiness formation and transactionscommercial and residential real estate buying and selling, lending and secured transactions. 

Also, a social member of the Hudson Valley community, Steve spends his free time supporting other local businesses with his vast knowledge. At the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce events such as The Contact Breakfast, Steve noted, “I enjoy listening to important development updates in the City of Poughkeepsie and the Hudson Valley region, and their impact on the local economy.” He also attends as many of the chamber’s functions as possible and Stenger, Glass, Hagstrom, Lindars & Iuele LLP is a Corporate Supporter of the chamber. 

Steve enjoys music and can be found attending local music events throughout the Hudson Valley community. His preferred genre bands cover music from the 1960s-1990s. An avid amateur chef, Steve enjoys cooking cuisine from scratch; posting frequent photos of pasta, seafood, and breakfasts homemade in his own kitchen, usually shared with friends and family. 

A former firefighter, Steve worked for 19 years as a firefighter in Dutchess County, rising through the ranks to become the First Assistant Chief of the Arlington Fire District.

Steve received his BS from Marist College, his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice in New York, Florida, and Massachusetts.
